Anatomical Study of the Earthworm by Paul Pfurtscheller.

Austrian author, zoologist and illustrator Prof. Dr. Paul Pfurtscheller (1855 - 1927) produced a series of 39 Zoological Wall Plates to be used in higher education.

Although he was a modest high school teacher by training he gained recognition by the scientific community worldwide for this outstanding body of work.

The Pfurtscheller wall charts were first published in Vienna, Austria in 1902, by 'A.Pichler's Witwe & Sohn'. This piece was sourced from Belgium. This collection is rare, sought-after and so exquisite they are held by a number of natural history museums.

These charts were produced as large scale lithographs mounted on canvas and hung on chunky wooden hangers.

The chart is in good condition overall with the usual signs of use commensurate with age.

Dimensions are W137cm x H144cm
